Reba Manis Yearwood, 95, Indianapolis, passed away January 3, 2007. She was born on January 16, 1911 in Knoxville, IN to Claudia and Harvey Manis, where she lived until 1962. She moved to Miami, FL to take a job as Assistant House Keeper at the Daú Ville Hotel. She retired in 1976 and moved to Indianapolis to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Y. and Sam H. Dajani. Reba lost her father in her early childhood and was raised by her mother and step-father, Claudia and Lem Buckner. She attended the Old Knoxville High School. Reba loved life and enjoyed traveling and shopping. She made friends wherever she traveled. She loved a good joke and was original with her own. An avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Cols, she followed them on TV and in the papers, "Peyton Manning's team could do no wrong!"
She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Yearwood; her daughter, Carolyn Yearwood Dajani; her parents, Lem and Claudia Buckner; and two brothers, Hubert T. Buckner and James L. Buckner.
She is survived by her son-in-law and his wife, Sam H. and Greta Ann Dajani; two first cousins, Laverne Jackson Ritter of Knoxville and Nylus Jackson of Greenwood, IN; and many Yearwood kinfolk in East Tennessee.
